A knockout bracket is single elimination: win and advance, lose and you're out, until one team lifts the trophy.
Building the bracket
Seed it from your approved teams (drawn at random) or from pool qualifiers (the top teams of each pool). Competree lays out the rounds automatically — round of 16, quarter-finals, semi-finals, final.
Byes
When the number of teams isn't a power of two (say 5 or 6), the top seeds get a bye — a free pass to the next round — so the bracket stays balanced.
Automatic advancement
Enter a result and the winner moves into the next round automatically. Knockout matches can't be drawn, so enter a decisive score.
Third place and the final
Optionally add a third-place match between the two losing semi-finalists. When the final is played, the champion is crowned on the bracket.
